High power line transmissions

High voltage power lines are lines with 110kV or more volts. The first study about the topic that these high electricity power lines might have health impacts was done in 1979, after that many studies have been performed and there are some hints that living close to a high voltage power lines increases the risk of getting leucimia. In conclusion, science can neither prove or disprove this because it is unknown if low-level electromagnetic fields have an impact on human health.

Electromagnetic Waves Podcast

In my opinion this pod cast was a great way to learn the basics about electromagnetic waves and how they are used. Electromagnetic waves are used to convey sound signals which are used for radios and other types of communication. Electromagnetic waves were like magic they could send messages over vast distances and even into space. It is interesting to see how the world was transformed with the invention of wireless radio communication, this allowed for ship captains to communicate with other ships, allowed merchants to check up on their boats, it also allowed pilots to communicate and it had many more uses. All in all electromagnetic waves are an important part of our world today, and if they weren’t discovered, what would our world be like today?
